The influence of other factors on the surface quality of the material on the cutting quality: the effect of the cutting torch and the nozzle The design and manufacturing process of the cutting torch has an important impact on obtaining good cutting quality, especially the nozzle. Improper selection or improper maintenance of the nozzle can easily cause pollution or damage, or due to the roundness of the nozzle mouth or local blockage due to hot metal splashing, eddy currents will form in the nozzle, resulting in significantly poor cutting performance.
For nozzles, there are two issues to pay special attention to:
(1) Influence of nozzle diameter. The nozzle opening size has a certain effect on the cutting speed, and the nozzle opening size also affects the pressure distribution at the outlet. The nozzle diameter increases. Due to the strong cooling effect of the jet stream on the base material in the cutting zone, the heat-affected zone is narrowed, but the slit is too wide, and the nozzle size may cause collimation difficulties. The nozzle opening may be cut by the beam. Moreover, the slit is too narrow, which will hinder the smooth discharge of slag at high cutting speeds.
(2) The influence of the distance between the nozzle and the surface of the workpiece. The distance between the nozzle and the workpiece directly affects the coupling between the nozzle airflow and the workpiece slit. The nozzle opening is too close to the surface of the workpiece, which will cause strong return pressure on the lens, weakening the dissipating ability of the spatter cutting material point, and adversely affecting the cutting quality. Effective cutting is also disadvantageous.
Generally, it is advisable to control the distance between the nozzle and the workpiece at 1 ~ 2mm. The cutting torches of modern laser cutting systems are equipped with an inductive or capacitive sensor feedback device to automatically adjust the distance between the two within a preset height range. Impact of the external optical path system: The original light beam emitted by the laser is transmitted (including reflection and transmission) through the external optical path system, and accurately irradiates the surface of the workpiece with extremely high power density.
